But it has been seen many times that the train gets late. Due to this people have to cancel their tickets.

But for this, rules of Indian Railways have been made. Do you know how many hours late the train gets refunded? If you do not know, then let us tell you that according to the rules of Indian Railways, refund is given if the train is delayed by 3 hours or more.

But there are some rules and conditions applicable in this too. Which you should know if you have booked a ticket in Tatkal and your ticket is confirmed. So in such a situation you will not get any refund on cancelling the ticket.

After cancelling the ticket in case of train delay, you have to file TD i.e. Ticket Deposit Receipt for refund. You can file this through IRCTC's official website or IRCTC's Rail Connect app.

Generally, within 5 to 7 days, the refund comes to your account. However, a minimum time of 90 days has been fixed for this. If the money does not come till then. Then you can lodge a complaint about it.
