The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is solely responsible for the supply of notes to the common people in the country. RBI sends currency across the country through its 19 issue offices and currency chests located in Kochi. Let us tell you that these offices are present in different cities, and through them, currency is delivered to every citizen on time and safely.

Whether a person is rich or poor, of any class, money is needed to fulfill every need of life. In today's time, due to rising inflation, people spend every rupee carefully. Everyone knows that these rupees are issued in the market by the RBI. But have you ever wondered how they reach every corner of the country?

Yes, in our country, the entire responsibility of delivering notes and coins to the people lies with the Reserve Bank of India i.e. RBI. At present, RBI handles this work through its 19 issue offices, which are present in different cities of the country like Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna and Thiruvananthapuram. Apart from this, RBI also has a special currency chest in Kochi, from where the supply of notes and coins is carried forward.

Let us tell you that these RBI issue offices get new notes directly from the currency printing press. After this, these new notes are delivered in a special form to the currency chests run by the banks. However, in some special cases, the currency printing press directly sends the notes to the selected currency chests, so that new notes reach the people quickly.

Now let's talk about coins. RBI offices present in Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi take coins directly from the mint. Then these coins are delivered to the rest of the RBI offices, from where they reach the people through currency chests and small coin depots. That is, every coin that reaches us has an interesting journey.

Only after this, notes and rupee coins are deposited in the currency chest, while small coins are kept in special small coin depots. Let us tell you that from here the bank branches receive notes and coins and then distribute them among the general public.

That is, in this way, this strong network of RBI has delivered notes and coins to every corner of the country on time and safely. Whether it is a village or a city, it is a big responsibility of RBI to ensure that there is never a shortage of cash anywhere (Input: rbi.org.in)
