The growing tension between Iran and Israel had increased the concerns of the whole world. But now a ceasefire has been announced between the two countries. But when both countries were raining drones and missiles on each other, this crisis became even more serious for India. Actually, there are a large number of Indian students in Iran. To bring these students back safely, the Indian government started a special mission named 'Operation Sindhu'.

Every year about 20 lakh students appear for NEET exam in India, but there are only about one lakh government medical seats. Due to so much competition, not every eligible student gets admission. In such a situation, students turn to abroad, where the admission process is a little easier.

How much is the fee

In private medical colleges of India, MBBS studies cost from 50 lakh to 1 crore rupees, whereas in Iran the same course can be completed in 15 to 25 lakh rupees. The cost of living and food is also very low there, about 10 to 12 thousand rupees per month.

Admission to medical colleges in Iran is done on the basis of NEET score, but there is no need to give separate entrance tests here. Also, studying from a foreign university also gives a global tag, which increases international exposure and opportunities in career.

Where do Indian students studying in Iran study?

There are many renowned medical universities in Iran, where Indian students study. These include Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Islamic Azad University, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Hamadan University, Golestan University and Kerman University.

According to government data, about 10 thousand Indian citizens live in Iran, out of which more than 1500 are students. Most of these students are from Jammu and Kashmir.

Job chances compared to India?

Doing MBBS from Iran is definitely cheaper and easier, but the path to getting a job in India or abroad is not that easy. After studying from Iran, it is necessary to pass the FMGE exam to become a doctor in India.

Even after passing the FMGE, one has to do a year of internship before starting practice in India, for which there is a shortage of seats in many states. Talking about foreign countries, slightly better opportunities can be found in the Middle East countries, but in Europe and America, separate medical exams have to be passed, which takes a lot of hard work.
