Intelligence agencies like RAW and IB play an important role. There is no direct recruitment to become an agent in these, rather, the selection is done through the examinations of Civil Services, Defense Services or Home Ministry.

The security of the country is not limited to the borders only, but a strong intelligence system is also needed for this. This is the work done by the intelligence agencies of our country.

Among these, agencies like RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) and IB (Intelligence Bureau) are the most important. Their agents live in the country and abroad and collect such information, which is very important for national security.

Many times the question arises in the minds of people that how are agents selected in these intelligence agencies? Is there a separate recruitment for them too? Or can any ordinary citizen join it? Let's know...

Agents are not recruited directly in RAW. Most of the candidates in this agency are taken from Civil Services and Defense Services. That is, only those candidates who are already in government services and have a good track record can reach this agency.

According to reports, officers who become IAS, IPS or IFS through UPSC can be included in RAW by giving them special training. Officers of Indian Army, Navy and Air Force are also taken in RAW.

The recruitment process in Intelligence Bureau (IB) is slightly different. Here direct recruitment is done on posts like Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO). Notification for this is issued by the Home Ministry.

The minimum qualification required is to be a graduate. Selection is done through written examination, interview and physical test. Selected candidates are given training for intelligence work.
