Holiday has been declared in all government, non-government schools and Anganwadi centers due to the possibility of heavy rain in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan.
Jaisalmer District Collector Pratap Singh on Monday issued an order declaring holiday in all government and non-government schools and Anganwadi centers due to the possibility of heavy rain. This order has been issued in view of the warning of the Indian Meteorological Department, which has predicted heavy rain in the district during the next 24 hours. According to the order, holiday has been declared for all students from class 1 to 12. However, all the academic and non-academic personnel of the school and Anganwadi center have been ordered to report to their respective places as per their scheduled departmental time.
The order states that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the students. The district collector further directed that if any government or private school or Anganwadi centre is found violating these instructions, disciplinary action will be taken against them as per rules.
Dausa district receives over 177 mm rainfall
Meanwhile, the administration has urged the public to remain alert, stay in safe areas and follow the official advisories issued from time to time. Similarly, Rajasthan's Dausa district has also been affected by continuous heavy rains, causing canals to overflow and many roads to be waterlogged. According to Dausa District Magistrate (DM) Devendra Kumar, the district has received over 177 mm rainfall. Apart from this, Haripura dam is also overflowing, so relief teams have been put on alert.
Dausa District Magistrate (DM) said, "Dausa received around 177 mm rainfall yesterday. Haripura dam has overflowed and relief teams are on alert. Administrative officials are present at the spot. We urge residents to report any incident to the control room."
Government allocates Rs 16 crore for repair of 650 schools and 16 dams
Rajasthan minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore visited the flood-affected areas of Dausa district on Sunday to take stock of the situation and assured relief measures for the affected residents. During this, the minister announced that the government has allocated Rs 16 crore for the repair of about 650 schools and 16 dams. Rathore said, "The government is fully aware. The administration here is very active. The government has allocated Rs 16 crore for the repair of about 650 schools and 16 dams. There has been huge loss to the crops, it will be compensated."
