Holi Special Trains: Now, travel home comfortably this Holi and return safely, with the Railways arranging 1,244 special train trips.
These special trains will connect major metropolises, capital cities, and important regional centers, reducing congestion on regular trains and providing passengers with the convenience of confirmed tickets.
In view of the increasing passenger traffic during the Holi festival, the Indian Railways has decided to operate 1,244 Holi special train trips across the country. These trips began on February 25th and will continue until March 18, 2026. The Railways states that if more trains are needed, up to 1,500 special trips can be planned. The purpose of these special arrangements is to ensure safe, smooth, and comfortable travel for passengers during the festival.
Where will these trains run?
According to reports, these special trains will connect major metropolitan cities, state capitals, and important regional centers across the country, reducing congestion on regular trains and providing passengers with the convenience of confirmed tickets. Special trains will run from Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur to Danapur, Gorakhpur, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Samastipur, and Barauni. Additional services will also be available between Visakhapatnam, Puri, and Bhubaneswar to Shalimar, Patna, Yeshwantpur, and Dhanbad.
Trains will also be available for these states:
Major cities in Bihar and Jharkhand, Patna, Darbhanga, Saharsa, and Dhanbad, will be connected to New Delhi, Anand Vihar Terminal, Chandigarh, and SMVT Bengaluru.
In eastern and northern India, additional connectivity will be provided between Howrah, Sealdah, Kolkata, and Malda Town to Raxaul, Madhubani, Gorakhpur, and Anand Vihar Terminal.
From South India, MGR Chennai Central, Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram North, Coimbatore, Secunderabad, Tirupati, and SMVT Bengaluru will be connected to Patna, Barauni, Muzaffarpur, Santragachi, Ajmer, and Jaipur.
East Central Railway will operate the largest number of special trains. ECR will operate 50 special trains and 275 trips.
