Special announcements will be made at metro stations to guide spectators attending the Republic Day parade to their correct locations. This will help people determine whether their allocated seating area is north or south of Kartavya Path.

To ensure a smooth and convenient experience for spectators at this year's Republic Day celebrations on Delhi's Kartavya Path, the administration has leveraged technology and meticulous planning. From special announcements at metro stations to a QR code-based parking system, the focus is on crowd management and easy access at every level.

Metro Stations to Provide Directional Guidance

According to officials, special announcements will be made at metro stations to guide spectators attending the Republic Day parade to their correct locations. These announcements will inform ticket and pass holders whether their allocated seating area is north or south of Kartavya Path. This will help commuters alight at the correct metro station without getting lost.

All Seating Enclosures Named After Rivers

This year, all seating enclosures for the parade have been named after major rivers of the country. The southern section includes enclosures named after rivers such as Beas, Brahmaputra, Chambal, Chenab, Gandak, Ganga, Ghaghara, Godavari, Indus, and Jhelum. Spectators seated in these areas have been advised to alight at Udyog Bhawan Metro Station.

Separate Metro Station for Spectators in the Northern Section

For spectators with tickets for the northern section, enclosures named after rivers such as Kaveri, Kosi, Krishna, Mahanadi, Narmada, Pennar, Periyar, Ravi, Son, Sutlej, Teesta, Vaigai, and Yamuna have been designated. These spectators have been instructed to alight at Central Secretariat Metro Station to ensure balanced crowd distribution.

QR Code-Based Parking to Provide Significant Relief

For the convenience of spectators arriving by vehicle, a QR code-based parking system has been implemented this year. This system covers 22 designated parking locations and will be able to accommodate approximately 8,000 vehicles. By scanning the QR code printed on their parking passes, spectators will receive real-time directions to the parking area closest to their seats.

Approximately 77,000 passes issued annually

A senior official stated that approximately 77,000 spectator passes are issued every year for the Republic Day parade. Of these, about 8,000 passes are for those who arrive at the venue in their private vehicles. This new parking system is expected to significantly benefit these spectators.

Delhi Police urges greater use of the Metro

According to a senior police officer, the entire system aims to reduce confusion and facilitate smooth traffic flow. The police have appealed to the public to make maximum use of metro services and follow the announcements and signs at metro stations to easily reach Kartavya Path (formerly Rajpath).
