Heading to Bihar for Chhath? Check seat availability on these 7 special trains
If you are struggling to secure a confirmed ticket to travel to Bihar for Chhath Puja, check for seat availability on special trains departing from Delhi, Gujarat, Bengaluru, and Nagpur, and book your tickets well in advance.
Additional travel options have become available for passengers planning to head home for Chhath Puja. During the festival, trains bound for Bihar often see a surge in demand, making it difficult to obtain a confirmed ticket.
In such a situation, rather than relying solely on regular train services, it is worth considering the special trains announced by the Railways. Several special trains have been scheduled to run for a limited period, connecting cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, and various locations in Gujarat to different railway stations in Bihar.

Relief for those traveling from Delhi to Bhagalpur
A special train service is also available from Delhi’s Anand Vihar Terminal to Bhagalpur. This service is scheduled to operate daily until November 26. This allows passengers to check for travel availability on various dates; however, the availability of tickets is not guaranteed.
Options for traveling from Gujarat to the Madhubani area
Those traveling from Gujarat to Bihar may consider the Udhna-Jaynagar Special train, which is scheduled to run between October 18 and November 27. Passengers arriving in Jaynagar should also take into account the distance to their final destination and plan their onward journey accordingly.
Verify details before booking
Passengers should check the train dates, timings, stations, and seat availability on the official railway booking platform. The announcement of a special train does not guarantee that seats will be available on every date. Before departing for the Chhath festival, ensure you have also planned your return journey and the travel arrangements from the station to your home.
