HDFC Bank has made a big change in its savings account policies. Now, the bank's account holders will get only 4 free cash transactions every month. After this, a fee of Rs 150 will be charged on every additional transaction. This change has come into effect from August 1, 2025, and it will mainly affect those customers who regularly make cash transactions. Along with this, the bank has also implemented new charges on its other banking services. According to the bank, this step has been taken to encourage customers towards digital transactions, so that banking can be made more secure and convenient.

Rules changed for cash transactions.
HDFC Bank has made some important changes in its cash transaction policy. Earlier, where cash transactions up to Rs 2 lakh were free every month, now this limit has been reduced to only Rs 1 lakh. More importantly, now customers will get only 4 free cash transactions. After this, a fee of Rs 150 will be charged on every additional cash transaction.

How will America become great, when the budget is flying on interest?

Apart from this, if a customer makes a cash transaction of more than Rs 1 lakh in a month, then the fee will be calculated at the rate of Rs 5 per Rs 1,000, with a minimum fee of Rs 150. This change can directly affect the small and middle-class customers, especially those who frequently deposit or withdraw cash by visiting bank branches.

No change in third-party transaction

No change has been made in the third-party transaction policy of the bank; that is, you can also make a cash transaction from someone else's account, but its daily limit will remain at Rs 25,000. Additionally, if you deposit or withdraw money from the bank in someone else's name, then the same charges will be applicable as on normal transactions. New charges will also be applicable on NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS. Along with this, HDFC Bank has also changed the fee structure on other transactions. The charges on NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer) transactions will now be as follows.

Up to Rs 10,000: Rs 2

From Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 lakh: Rs 4

From Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh: Rs 14

More than Rs 2 lakh: Rs 24

Charges on RTGS have also been increased.

From Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh: Rs 20

More than Rs 5 lakh: Rs 45

Charges on IMPS transactions have also been changed.

Up to Rs 1,000: Rs 2.50

From Rs 1,000 to Rs 1 lakh: Rs 5

More than Rs 1 lakh: Rs 15

Changes in other banking services too

Charges for many other services of the bank have also been changed. Now, a charge of Rs 100 will be charged for a balance certificate, interest certificate, or address proof (Rs 90 for senior citizens). At the same time, a fee of Rs 80 will be charged for a copy of the old record or a copy of the paid cheque (Rs 72 for senior citizens). PIN regeneration will now be free, whereas earlier a fee of Rs 40 was charged for this. Along with this, the rules for the chequebook have also changed. Now only one chequebook (of 10 pages) will be available free every year. For more pages than this, a fee of Rs 4 per page will be charged (senior citizens will get a little discount).
