HDFC Bank Credit Card Rules: There are some changes in all sectors on the first date of every month. The month of August has started today, so there is a big update for HDFC Bank customers as well. If you use an HDFC credit card then this news is very useful for you. HDFC Bank has changed the rules and fees for those using its credit card (HDFC Bank Credit Card). New rules have come into effect from August 1 today. Know here-
1% charge on transaction
If the rent payment is made through an HDFC Bank credit card from a third-party app CRED, Paytm, Mobikwik, Freecharge, and others, a 1% charge will be levied on the transaction. This charge will be up to a maximum of Rs 3,000.
Fuel payment rules
If you make a payment of less than Rs 15,000 through an HDFC Bank credit card, then no additional charge will be levied on you, but on transactions above this amount, a 1% charge will be levied on the total amount. Its maximum limit is up to Rs 3 thousand.
Rules for business card holders
If you use a business card, then no additional charge will be levied on spending less than Rs 30,000 on filling petrol in one go. But if you fill petrol of more than Rs 30,000 in one go, then a 1% charge will be levied on the total amount.
Utility payments will also become expensive.
If you pay utility bills with an HDFC credit card, then new rules have come into force from today regarding this as well. While paying utility bills with an HDFC Bank credit card, no additional charge will be levied on transactions of less than Rs 50 thousand, but on payments above this amount, you will have to pay a 1% per payment charge.
Change in late payment fee structure.
The bank has also changed the late payment fee structure. From today, customers will not have to pay any kind of late fee for less than Rs 100. Rs 100 will have to be paid on payments of Rs 101 to 500, Rs 500 on Rs 501 to 1000, Rs 600 on Rs 1001 to 5000, Rs 750 on Rs 5001 to 10000, Rs 900 on Rs 10001 to 25000, Rs 1100 on Rs 25001 to 50000 and Rs 1,300 on payments above Rs 50000.
Charges on educational transactions
The rules have also changed regarding educational transactions. The charge on payments through third-party apps like Cred Paytm has also been increased to 1%. However, there will be no charge on transactions through college or school websites or their POS machines and international educational payments.
Rs 50 redemption fee
If you use rewards as statement credit or cashback, you will be charged a redemption fee of Rs 50. However, no fee will be applicable on reward redemption on Infinia, Diners Black, Diners Black, BizzBlack Metal, Swiggy HDFC Bank, and Flipkart Wholesale cards.
EMI processing fee
If you choose the option of Easy-EMI from an online or offline shop, then you will have to pay an EMI processing fee of up to Rs 299. Earlier it was only Rs 199. GST fixed by the government will be payable separately on all types of fees.
