Have you also filed a PF claim? EPFO has issued an alert regarding processing delays; find out the reason..
PF Claim: If you have recently filed a claim to withdraw your PF, you may have to wait a few more days. The EPFO has stated that the processing of PF claims and other services may be delayed due to a database upgrade and software migration. The organization has announced that this process will be carried out in a phased manner over the next two weeks. During this period, all claims will undergo additional scrutiny. The objective is to make the system more secure and faster.
Why are PF claims being delayed?
The EPFO began upgrading its database and software systems on June 26. Consequently, online services were suspended for a brief period. Although services have now resumed, the processing of claims and other requests will not proceed at the usual pace. The organization states that claims will be settled only after a thorough verification of all records.
Phased process over two weeks
According to the EPFO, PF claims and other service requests will be processed in a phased manner over the next two weeks. During this time, additional verification and data checks will be conducted to ensure the accuracy of members' information. The organization asserts that this will make future services faster and more reliable.
Avoid repeated requests
The EPFO has advised members not to submit multiple applications for the same claim. Members are also advised to avoid repeatedly logging into the portal during peak hours. Doing so could place undue pressure on the system and potentially lead to further delays. The organization has stated that all claims will be settled in accordance with the established procedure.
Services currently unavailable on the UMANG app
EPFO services are currently unavailable on the UMANG app. Members will not be able to access PF-related services via this app until the migration process is complete. However, the EPFO member portal remains fully operational. Members can submit PF claims by logging into the portal using their Universal Account Number and password.
