To prevent such fraud, UIDAI has now taken a very useful step. The government has launched a new app to identify fake Aadhaar cards. This app not only verifies the authenticity of the Aadhaar card.

These days, renting out homes in cities is easy, but it's crucial to be vigilant about the tenant's identity. Sometimes, someone presents a fake Aadhaar card to conceal their identity or deceive others. Landlords often hastily trust the documents without verifying them. If something goes wrong later, the landlord has to bear the brunt.

To prevent such fraud, UIDAI has now taken a very useful step. The government has launched a new app to identify fake Aadhaar cards. This app not only verifies the authenticity of an Aadhaar card but also allows you to instantly verify anyone's Aadhaar on your mobile. So, let's explore which government app can be used to identify a fake Aadhaar card and how you can use it to identify genuine and fake Aadhaar cards.

Which government app can be used to identify a fake Aadhaar card?

UIDAI has launched a new and advanced app called the Aadhaar App. It is completely different from the old mAadhaar app and has added several new security and privacy features. With this app, you can instantly authenticate anyone's Aadhaar card, hide Aadhaar card details as needed, enhance your own Aadhaar security, verify the authenticity of Aadhaar by scanning its QR code, and lock or unlock it with biometrics. This app is available on both Android and iOS.

How to Identify Whether a Tenant's Aadhaar Card Is Genuine or Fake

1. Scanning a QR Code - Upon opening the Aadhaar App, you'll find the Scan QR option at the bottom. If you have a tenant's Aadhaar card, scan its printed QR code with the app. Upon scanning, the app will immediately display the original photo, full name, date of birth, and basic Aadhaar information. If no information is displayed after scanning the QR code, the information displayed is incorrect, or the app displays "Invalid," you should understand that the Aadhaar card is not genuine.

2. Identifying the Card's Quality - Genuine Aadhaar PVC cards have several security features, such as ghost images, microtext, security patterns, holograms, and clear and distinct print. If the card's print is blurred, the hologram is not accurate, or there are any design flaws, the card may be fake.

3. Verify Aadhaar Number on the UIDAI Website - You can check the validity of your Aadhaar number directly by visiting the UIDAI website. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number in the website's Verify Aadhaar Number feature, complete the OTP or captcha. If the website says the number is invalid, the Aadhaar card is fake.
