Have cylinder prices changed for the third consecutive month?

This marks the third consecutive month that the prices of commercial LPG cylinders have increased. Previously, prices were raised by ₹9.50 on September 1 and by ₹62.50 on October 1. Following the ₹10 increase in November, the price of a 19 kg cylinder in Delhi has reached ₹2,820.

This directly impacts businesses that consume large quantities of gas daily. For hotels, restaurants, and *dhabas*, the cost of food preparation may rise.

Why haven't domestic cylinder prices changed?

Domestic LPG prices are typically reviewed at the beginning of each month. These prices are influenced by factors such as international gas and crude oil rates, the rupee-dollar exchange rate, and other operational costs.

However, it is not mandatory for the price of domestic cylinders to change every month. This time, the price of a 14.2 kg cylinder remains unchanged at ₹942. Meanwhile, the prices of commercial cylinders have been adjusted.
