If you are planning to book a gas cylinder for the festive season, it is worth checking today’s rates. On a positive note, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi remains stable. However, the increased cost of commercial gas cylinders could lead to higher expenses for hotels, restaurants, and sweet shops during the festive period.

As of Wednesday, October 28, 2026, the price of a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi is ₹942, while a 19 kg commercial cylinder costs ₹2,810. The price of commercial cylinders was increased by ₹62.50 on October 1st.

What is the price of a domestic gas cylinder ahead of Diwali?

The price of the 14.2 kg LPG cylinder used for domestic cooking has not changed in Delhi. This means that if you are planning to prepare sweets, snacks, or other special dishes at home for Diwali, you will pay the same price for your gas cylinder as you did last month.

Could buying sweets this Diwali become more expensive?

During Diwali, the workload at sweet shops, confectioneries, hotels, and restaurants increases significantly, often leading to higher consumption of commercial LPG. Consequently, any rise in gas prices directly impacts the operating costs for these businesses. In Delhi, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was increased by ₹62.50 at the beginning of October, bringing it to ₹2,810. Meanwhile, the price stands at ₹2,954 in Kolkata and ₹3,100.50 in Patna.

This does not necessarily mean that the prices of sweets or other food items will rise immediately. Prices are also influenced by factors such as the cost of raw materials, milk, sugar, oil, labor, and other operational expenses incurred by shopkeepers. However, an increase in gas prices could certainly put pressure on business owners.

When do LPG prices change each month?

Oil companies typically review LPG cylinder prices on the first of every month. Prices for domestic and commercial cylinders are determined separately; therefore, an increase in the price of a commercial cylinder does not imply that the price of a domestic cylinder will rise at the same time.
