Haryana Government Announces Pre-Diwali Relief for Flood-Affected Farmers: CM Saini Reveals Compensation Package
The Haryana government has announced a major relief package for farmers affected by heavy rainfall and floods, offering compensation of up to ₹15,000 per acre ahead of Diwali. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini unveiled measures aimed at providing financial support to farmers, safeguarding crop production, and easing their economic burden.
Compensation for Crop Loss
As part of the relief initiative, approximately 5.37 lakh farmers have registered their crop losses on the e-Kshatipurti portal, covering a total of 31 lakh acres of farmland. Each eligible farmer will receive a maximum of ₹15,000 per acre, with the compensation amount to be transferred directly to their bank accounts in the coming weeks.
Additionally, the state has already provided around ₹4.72 crore directly to 2,386 affected families to compensate for earlier losses, including:

Relief on Crop Loans and Tubewell Electricity Bills
In districts where farmers suffered more than 50% crop loss, the government has temporarily suspended recovery of Kharif crop loans. Moreover, new Rabi crop loans will be made available to these farmers, providing relief to nearly 3 lakh farmers across the state.
The government has also deferred payment of tubewell electricity bills until December 2025, covering approximately 7.10 lakh farmers. These bills can now be paid without any additional interest or penalties until January 2026, offering significant financial respite.
