Griha Aadhar Yojana: The central and state governments run various schemes to empower women. One of these schemes is the Griha Aadhar Yojana. This scheme helps women become financially strong. The Goa government has taken several steps to empower women at home. This scheme provides financial assistance of ₹1,500 per month, but some women were not receiving the money on time. Addressing this problem, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that all eligible women would now receive the money in their accounts on the 10th of every month.

The Directorate of Women and Child Development organized a special camp at Rajiv Kala Mandir in Ponda. During the camp, many women expressed their concerns about receiving their Griha Aadhar Yojana funds late. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that no eligible woman receives delayed payments and that the money is credited to her account on time.

1,500 rupees per month
Currently, approximately 180,000 women in Goa are receiving 1,500 rupees per month under this scheme. This money is mostly used to purchase medicines, children's education, and household expenses. The documents of many women who attended the camp were checked on the spot to avoid any problems with payments later.

When was the Griha Aadhar Yojana launched?
The Griha Aadhar Yojana was launched in 2012 by former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to reduce the burden of inflation. At the camp's inauguration, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) has been further strengthened, ensuring government assistance reaches people's bank accounts directly.

Government assistance to 40% of Goa's population
Today, 40% of Goa's population, or over 400,000 people, are benefiting from one government financial assistance scheme or another. The state government will continue to implement such schemes to provide economic security and empowerment to women.
