The government has issued a warning to crores of smartphone users in the country. Users have been asked to take some precautions while installing apps on the phone.

The government has advised users to be careful while installing apps on their smartphones. Given the increasing cybercrime, the government has warned crores of users of the country. Many times cyber criminals get fake apps downloaded on users' phones and they have to suffer huge losses in no time. According to the Home Ministry report, more than 6,000 people are becoming victims of cyber crime every day in the country. According to RBI, crores of rupees are defrauded by cyber criminals every year.

Government's warning

According to the National Cyber Crime website, the government warned smartphone users to install any app on the phone only from a trusted source. For example, Android users should install any app on their phone only from Google Play Store. At the same time, iPhone users should install the app only from the Apple App Store. Not only this, only verified apps from Google Play Store or Apple App Store should be installed on your phone.

Cyber Crime

Many times cyber criminals also provide duplicate versions or dummy apps of any popular app to deceive people. In such a situation, users should install it in the phone only after seeing the verified apps. Apart from this, the government has advised users to install the app from the official website.

Take these precautions

After downloading the app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store, give only necessary permissions to those apps.

Give access to the app's camera, location, microphone, storage etc. only for a limited time.

While installing the app, users should give permission to camera, location etc. only while using it. By giving permission forever, your private conversations or data etc. can be easily accessed. After this, cyber fraud can be done by misusing those details.
