FASTag-Based Annual Pass: There is a big relief news for those traveling on the highway. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday announced the FASTag-based annual pass through a post on X. This facility will be implemented from August 15, 2025. Its purpose is to free highway travelers from the hassle of toll payment and make the journey more convenient.


Which vehicles will get the benefit?

This pass is specially designed for non-commercial private vehicles only, such as cars, jeeps vans, etc. This facility will not be applicable to commercial vehicles.

Where and how will the activation happen

For activation and renewal of annual pass, a separate link will soon be made available on the website of National Highways Authority (NHAI) and Ministry of Road Transport (MoRTH) and Highway Yatra App. This will make the process easy and smooth.

Solution to the problem of 60 km radius

This policy will help in solving the long-standing problems of the passengers regarding toll plazas located within 60 km. Toll payment will be possible through a single simple transaction, which will get rid of concerns like repeated toll deduction or overpayment during the journey.
