A big alert has come out for millions of users using iPhones or Apple devices. The Indian Government's cyber security agency CERT-In (Indian Computer Emergency Response Team) has issued a high-level security alert for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users. This alert was issued on August 4, 2025, and it states that serious flaws have been found in many Apple devices that hackers can easily use for their work.

According to CERT-In, many technical vulnerabilities have been found in these devices, such as Type Confusion, Use-After-Free Errors, Memory Access Errors, Integer Overflow and Buffer Overflow, Improper File Parsing, and Privilege Mismanagement.

Taking advantage of these vulnerabilities, hackers can put dangerous apps on your iPhone or Mac, which can cause the device to hang or get completely damaged. Also, your personal information can be stolen.

Which devices are at risk?

These vulnerabilities have been found in all devices that have software older than the operating system OS versions given below.

All iPhones before iOS 18.6

All iPads before iPadOS 17.7.9 or 18.6

macOS Sequoia before 15.6

macOS Sonoma before 14.7.7

macOS Ventura before 13.7.7

watchOS 11.6 before tvOS 18.6

visionOS 2.6 before.

What should be done to prevent this?

Keeping all these problems in mind, Apple has released a new update iOS 18.6. All users are advised to update the device immediately.

For this, go to the device's Settings → General → Software Update and install the new update.

Apart from this, users who want can also join the iOS 26 public beta program, which is available for iPhone 11 and newer models.
