Why was the ban imposed?
According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, all the banned apps and websites show objectionable ads, including pornographic content. In such a situation, they violate many rules, including Section 67 and Section 67A of the IT Act, 2000, Section 294 of the Indian Justice Code, 2023, and Section 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
