Government School Report: Government schools used to be the first choice for millions of families, but the picture is changing rapidly. A new report by the Ministry of Education reveals that a large number of parents are enrolling their children in private schools instead of government schools. Millions of children have withdrawn from government schools in the past two years, whereas private schools have seen a continuous rise in student numbers. This shift is not limited to just one state but is evident across several major states in the country. Let us find out which states have government schools in the most dire condition.

What does the Ministry of Education's new report say?

The Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) is the Ministry of Education's official digital database. In contrast, this figure stood at approximately 24.80 crore in 2023-24.
