Many types of schemes are being run by the central and state governments for the marriage of girls. A similar scheme is being run by the Tamil Nadu government. The name of this scheme is Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme, through which the government provides financial assistance for marriage to those girls whose parents have died.

Under the Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme, cash assistance of Rs 25000 is provided by the state government. Along with this, a gold coin of 8 grams is also given by the Tamil Nadu government. The benefit of the scheme will be available only to those whose family's annual income is not more than Rs 72000.

To avail of the benefits of the scheme, the girl should be 18 years of age or above. It is also necessary to have passed at least the 5th standard. The benefit of this scheme of the Tamil Nadu government is given to only one girl from a family.
