Government Scheme Provides Rs. 50,000 to Daughters: Learn the Application Process
Mukhyamantri Rajshree Yojana: Under this government scheme, daughters receive financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 from birth until they pass 12th grade. Learn how to apply.
The government is running several schemes to provide financial support to families for their daughters, from birth to their education. One such scheme is the Mukhyamantri Rajshree Yojana of the Rajasthan government. Under this scheme, a total of Rs. 50,000 is provided from the birth of a daughter until she passes 12th grade.
The Mukhyamantri Rajshree Yojana was launched in Rajasthan because previously, many areas faced problems like skewed sex ratios and female feticide. Rajasthan was not immune to these issues. The government aims to encourage the birth of daughters, ensure their continued education, and foster a positive mindset among families.
The Mukhyamantri Rajshree Yojana has been in effect since June 1, 2016. Under this scheme, a total of Rs. 50,000 is given from the birth of a girl child until she passes 12th grade. This amount is not given all at once but in 6 installments. Each installment is linked to important milestones in the girl's life and education.
This scheme is only for permanent residents of Rajasthan. The child must have been born after June 1, 2016. It is also mandatory that the child was born in a registered hospital or health center. The installments of the scheme are received only upon fulfilling these conditions.
Some necessary documents are required for the application. These include the child's birth certificate, Aadhaar card or Bhamashah card, mother and child health card, and school admission documents. All documents should be correct and up-to-date to avoid any problems during the application process.
The amount in the Rajshree Yojana is given in installments. The first installment of Rs. 2500 is given at the time of birth. The second installment of Rs. 2500 is given when the child is one year old and has completed her vaccinations. An amount of Rs. 4000 is given upon admission to Class 1, Rs. 5000 in Class 6, Rs. 11000 in Class 10, and the final installment of Rs. 25000 is given upon passing Class 12.
Applications for this scheme can be submitted through the online portal. Alternatively, applications can also be submitted by visiting the office of the Women and Child Development Department. After the application, the documents are verified, and if found eligible, the installments are directly transferred to the bank account.
