Government Jobs in CRPF for Sports Talent: Recruitment for 521 Posts

The CRPF has invited applications for a total of 521 posts—comprising Head Constables and Constables—under the Sports Quota Recruitment 2026. This recruitment drive is open to male and female athletes who have achieved success in 22 sports disciplines.

A recruitment drive has been announced by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for athletes preparing for government jobs. Operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the CRPF is seeking applications for 521 posts (Head Constable and Constable) under the Sports Quota Recruitment 2026. This recruitment is intended for male and female athletes with achievements across 22 sports disciplines.

The application process begins on October 12, 2026, and candidates can submit their forms until 11:59 PM on November 11, 2026. The advertisement number for this recruitment is R.II-21/2026-Sports. Candidates must apply online via the official CRPF website.

521 Posts for Head Constable and Constable

The total of 521 vacancies comprises 182 posts for Head Constable (GD) and 339 posts for Constable (GD). Of the Head Constable posts, 150 are reserved for male candidates and 32 for female candidates. Similarly, for the Constable posts, 258 are designated for men and 81 for women. Candidates who have passed the 12th standard can apply for the Head Constable post, while those who have passed the 10th standard are eligible for the Constable post. The required educational qualifications must be completed by November 11, 2026.

Which Athletes Are Eligible?

Athletes who have represented the country in recognized international competitions are eligible to apply for the Head Constable post. Additionally, athletes who have represented a state or Union Territory in National Games or recognized national championships—and secured a medal or finished in the top three—will be eligible subject to specific conditions. Athletes who have secured first or second place in individual events at inter-university competitions, or won gold or silver medals in recognized junior national-level competitions, also meet the sports eligibility criteria for this post. For the Constable post, players who have represented the state in senior or junior national-level competitions are eligible. Additionally, players who have achieved specific milestones in the National School Games, Khelo India University Games, Khelo India Youth Games, and Khelo India Winter Games may also apply. Players who have represented their university in inter-university tournaments are eligible as well. These sporting achievements must have been attained between September 30, 2024, and September 30, 2026.

Age Limit: 18 to 30 Years

The general age limit for both posts is 18 to 30 years. Age will be calculated as of August 1, 2026. Age relaxation of 5 years will be granted to General category players, 8 years to OBC-NCL candidates, and 10 years to SC/ST candidates. Provisions for additional relaxation for ex-servicemen also exist as per the rules. Candidates’ dates of birth must not fall before August 2, 2003, or after August 1, 2008.

Salary and Application Fee

The Head Constable (GD) post falls under Pay Level 4, with a salary range of ₹25,500 to ₹81,100. The Constable (GD) post falls under Pay Level 3, with a salary range of ₹21,700 to ₹69,100. Male candidates belonging to the UR, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹100. Female candidates, as well as SC, ST, and ex-servicemen candidates, are exempted from the fee.

No Written Examination

There will be no separate written examination for the CRPF sports quota recruitment. The selection process will begin with document verification, followed by a Physical Standard Test, sports trials, and a medical examination. The sports trials will assess the candidates’ actual sporting ability. Once a candidate is declared medically fit, a merit list will be prepared based on their sports certificates and achievements. Regarding physical standards, the minimum height requirement is 170 cm for male candidates and 157 cm for female candidates. For male candidates, the chest measurement must be 80 cm, with a minimum expansion of 5 cm. Relaxations in height and chest measurements will be granted to certain categories in accordance with the rules.
