What is Google's Theft Protection Service?
Google's Theft Protection is an in-built security service, which is available on smartphones with Android 10 and above. The purpose of this service is to keep the user's data safe in case of smartphone theft.
This feature has many layers of security, such as:
Theft Detection Lock: If the phone detects that it is being forcibly snatched or someone is running away with it, the screen will be automatically locked.
Offline Device Lock: If the phone goes offline, the screen will automatically lock after some time. A password will be required to unlock it.
How does the Theft Protection feature help?
With the help of this feature, users can remotely lock the phone if it is stolen. Also, the device can be tracked and its data erased using Google's Find My Device service.
Go to your phone's Settings.
Select the Google > Google Services option.
After this, go to All Services > Personal and Device Safety > Theft Protection and turn it on.
