If the password is leaked, then this tool of Google immediately alerts you.
One thing to note about this feature is that this tool Google will alert you only when you have kept your password safe with Google Password Manager. If we understand in simple language, if you have saved important passwords in Google Password Manager, then you will get an immediate alert on a data breach (password leak).
How to save passwords in password manager?
Open Google Chrome through a laptop or system, then tap on the three dots visible on the right side and go to Password and Autofill option. As soon as you tap on this option, you will see the Google Password Manager option.
After clicking on this option, you will see Passwords, Checkup and Settings option on the left side. To save the password, you can click on the Passwords option and tap on Add, if you have already saved the passwords then click on Checkup.

After tapping on Checkup, you will see in Compromised Passwords whether your password has been leaked or not. Apart from this, this tool of Google will also give you information about which app you have created a weak password for. If you have already saved the password, then you can go to the Google option in the phone settings and go to the password manager in Autofill with Google to check whether the password has been stolen or for which app you have set a weak password.
