Google Gemini App: 45 crore active users in India, giving tough competition to ChatGPT..

Google's Gemini app is moving ahead rapidly in the race for artificial intelligence in India. Google India Vice President and Site Lead Shekhar Khosla recently informed on LinkedIn that the number of monthly active users of Gemini has crossed 450 million (45 crores). Its daily usage has also increased by 50% compared to the previous quarter.
This increase has come at a time when Google has given a big relief to Indian students. Students aged 18 years and above can use the premium service of Gemini AI Pro for free till September 15, 2025, which costs Rs 19,500 annually.
New features: Gemini 2.5 Pro, Veo 3, and advanced tools
In this subscription, users get access to advanced AI tools like Gemini 2.5 Pro, Deep Research, Veo 3, as well as features like Flow and Notebook LM.
Google recently launched several new AI initiatives for Indian startups and the developer community at I/O Connect India 2025. Under this, work has been started on indigenous AI models in India in collaboration with startups like Soket AI, Sarvam, and Gnani.
ChatGPT is in first place.
However, OpenAI's ChatGPT remains the strongest player in the market, with 600 million monthly active users. But the Gemini app is moving fast, and soon it can also come at par in this race.
