Indian Railways: The Railways has decided to run a special train for pilgrims visiting Vaishno Devi and Haridwar. Here are the details regarding the train's timings, route, coach composition, and other important travel information.

Indian Railways: The Railways has introduced a major facility for pilgrims visiting Vaishno Devi. A special train will operate between Katra and Haridwar, offering significant convenience to travellers. This decision was made in anticipation of the rush expected during Somvati Amavasya. There had been a long-standing demand for an additional train on this route, which has now been approved.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced the decision, noting that it would greatly benefit pilgrims from Jammu, Kathua, Hiranagar, and surrounding areas. Passengers will now be able to travel easily between Haridwar and Katra using this special train. Let’s look at the train timings and other key details.

What are the train timings?

According to the Railways, the special train from Katra to Haridwar will depart at 6:15 PM on June 14 and arrive in Haridwar at 6:30 AM the following day. Meanwhile, the special train from Haridwar to Katra will depart at 5:20 PM on June 15, arriving at Katra station at 7:00 AM the next day.

How many coaches does the train have?

The Railways currently plans to run this special train as a one-off service. To ensure passenger convenience, the train will consist of 16 coaches. It will offer various classes of travel, including General, Sleeper, AC 3-Tier, and AC 2-Tier.

What is the train's route?

The special train will start its journey from Katra station and make stops at several important railway stations along the route. Key stops include Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan Station, Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur, and Roorkee. Rail services to assist with crowd management
