Good News for UPPSC Candidates: PCS Mains from March 29, Exam Calendar 2026 Released

A major piece of good news has emerged for millions of young people preparing for government jobs in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has finally released the complete schedule for all exams to be held in 2026, a calendar that had been long-awaited.

This exam calendar, released from the commission headquarters in Prayagraj, clearly outlines which exams will be held on which dates next year. This will not only help candidates plan their studies effectively but also allow them to better manage their time with school, college, coaching, and personal life.

PCS Mains Dates Finalized

The most important information in this calendar concerns the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Main Examination-2025. According to the commission, the PCS Mains exam will begin on March 29, 2026. This exam will continue for four consecutive days and conclude on April 1, 2026.

The PCS exam is considered one of the most prestigious and difficult examinations in Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, the announcement of these dates is extremely important for the thousands of candidates who have been preparing for the Mains exam for a long time.

Exams to Begin in February

UPPSC's examination activities will pick up pace right from the beginning of the year. First, the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO) Main Examination-2023 will be held on February 2 and 3, 2026. This will be followed by the Computer Assistant Examination-2025 on February 6, 2026. This means that candidates will face a continuous series of exams starting in February. March 2026 will also be a crucial month for the candidates. Staff Nurse Unani (Preliminary) Exam-2025 – March 17, 2026, Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) Preliminary Exam-2025 – March 22, 2026.  A few days after these exams, the PCS Mains exam will begin on March 29, which is considered the biggest exam of the year.

Continuous Exams from April to September

Several major exams for various departments will be held continuously during the months of April, May, June, July, and August. These include exams for Assistant Teacher, Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Technical Education Service, ACF/RFO, Town Planner, and other positions. Notably, the ACF/RFO Main Exam-2025 will begin on July 14, 2026, and will continue for approximately 13 days.

Medical and Technical Exams in October

In October 2026, several medical and health-related screening exams will be conducted, including those for Veterinary Officer, Health Education Officer, Homeopathic Medical Officer, and Dental Surgeon.

PCS Prelims 2026: The Last Major Exam of the Year

The biggest exam at the end of the year will be the PCS Preliminary Exam-2026, which will be held on December 6, 2026. This exam formally marks the beginning of the next recruitment cycle. Typically, a large number of new candidates begin their preparation after the PCS Prelims. All major recruitments by the UPPSC are completed in three stages: the first is the Preliminary Exam, the second is the Main Exam, and the third is the Interview. Through these exams, officers and employees are appointed to various departments of the state government.
