If you are involved in animal husbandry and rear indigenous cow breeds, this news is relevant to you. Under the UP government's 'Chief Minister Progressive Livestock Farmer Incentive Scheme' (Mukhyamantri Pragatisheel Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana), financial assistance is being provided to livestock farmers for rearing high-quality indigenous cows. The scheme aims to promote indigenous cow breeds in the state and boost milk production. The government is also conducting awareness campaigns in rural areas.

**Which cows qualify for the benefit?**
The scheme covers indigenous breeds such as Gir, Sahiwal, Tharparkar, Haryana, and Gangatiri. If these cows meet the milk production standards set by the government, the livestock farmers will receive an incentive payment.

**How much is the incentive amount?**
Eligible livestock farmers will receive an incentive amount of either ₹10,000 or ₹15,000 under the scheme. The amount is determined based on the cow's milk production capacity. Furthermore, this scheme is implemented across all districts of the state. A key feature is that any eligible livestock farmer in the state can avail of the benefits.

**For how many cows can a farmer receive the benefit?**
A livestock farmer can receive the incentive amount for up to two cows. However, the benefit is provided only once in the cow's lifetime—specifically for its first, second, or third calving (delivery of a calf).

**Who can apply?**
To avail of the scheme's benefits, the applicant must be 18 years of age or older. Additionally, livestock farmers must apply within 45 days of the cow's calving date.

**How to apply?**
Applications for the scheme can be submitted via the official website: nandbabadugdhmission.up.gov.in. However, until the portal becomes fully operational, livestock farmers can also apply offline. Applications for this purpose can be submitted directly to the office of the Chief Development Officer of the respective district or sent via registered post.

Funds to be credited via DBT
The incentive amount for approved beneficiaries under the scheme will be transferred directly to their bank accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). This ensures the payment process remains transparent and streamlined.
