Good news for Instagram creators: Now, you can create Reels in not just Hindi, but also in these five languages.
Instagram introduced Hindi language support in Reels for Indian creators last year. Now, along with Hindi, Reels will also be available in Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu.
Keeping Indian creators in mind, Instagram has expanded its AI-powered voice translation and lip-syncing feature to five Indian languages. This update will make it easier for creators to create creative Reels, and users will also be able to view Reels in their own language. This will also improve the interaction between creators and users. It's worth noting that the feature was announced at the House of Instagram event in November 2025, when it only supported Hindi.
These five languages will be available alongside Hindi
Social media giant Instagram introduced Hindi language support for Reels, captions, and in-video fonts in November 2025. Now, the company has added support for Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu languages for dubbing and link-syncing. This will help creators expand their reach.
The company says that dubbed videos will not sound robotic at all. Meta AI will customize the audio of these videos to match the creator's voice tone and pitch, making the video sound more lifelike and appear to be their own.
Devanagari fonts will be available for text
Indian fonts will also be available on Instagram. This will allow creators to use Devanagari, Bengali, Assamese, and Marathi fonts for video text and captions. Android users will be the first to receive support for these languages.
This feature was released in October 2025.
Finally, for your information, the social media app Instagram rolled out a Map feature for its users. This feature allows users to share their location on the platform, as well as view the locations of other users. Furthermore, the Map feature also allows them to view the locations where popular Reels were shot.
This feature on Instagram is disabled by default. By enabling it, you can share your location. This requires the device's GPS to be enabled.
