Happy Card: The Haryana government's Happy Card scheme brings welcome relief to millions of needy families. Under this scheme, poor and Antyodaya families are being provided with the facility of free travel for up to 1,000 kilometers annually on Haryana Roadways buses. The government has already distributed Happy Cards to approximately 2 million people so far, and another 2 million individuals are set to benefit from this initiative very soon. If you, too, meet the eligibility criteria, let us explain what the Happy Card is and how you can easily obtain one.

**What is the Haryana Roadways Happy Card Scheme?**
The Haryana government has launched the Happy Card under the 'Antyodaya Parivar Parivahan Yojana' (Antyodaya Family Transport Scheme). The objective of this scheme is to provide travel relief to economically weaker families. Families with an annual income of less than ₹100,000 are granted the facility of free travel for up to 1,000 kilometers per year on Haryana Roadways buses. To avail of this facility, beneficiaries are issued a smart card, known as the 'Happy Card.' This card can be utilized for travel on Roadways buses.

**Who Can Apply for a Happy Card?**
Certain essential conditions have been laid down for obtaining a Happy Card. The applicant must be a resident of Haryana. The total annual income of the family must not exceed ₹100,000. Furthermore, it is mandatory that the family's income be verified within the 'Parivar Pehchan Patra' (PPP)—the Family ID document. Only families falling under the 'Antyodaya' category are eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme.

**What Documents Are Required for the Application?**
Obtaining a Happy Card requires the submission of several essential documents. These include the Parivar Pehchan Patra (Family ID), Aadhaar Card, mobile number, passport-sized photograph, income certificate, and Haryana domicile certificate.

**How to Apply Online for a Happy Card?**
The application process for the Happy Card is entirely online. First, you must visit the official website of the Haryana Transport Department. On the website, you will find an option labeled 'Apply Happy Card.'

Next, you will need to enter your Family ID and the CAPTCHA code, and then verify your identity using the One-Time Password (OTP). Subsequently, a list of your family members will appear on the screen. Click on the 'Click To Apply' option located next to the name of the specific family member for whom you wish to generate the card. Now, complete the verification process via OTP by entering your Aadhaar number and mobile number. Subsequently, the application process will be finalized as soon as you click the ‘Apply’ button.

How long does it take to receive the card?
Approximately 15 days after applying, beneficiaries can collect their cards from their nearest Haryana Roadways office. The department also sends an SMS notification informing beneficiaries of the specific date for collection.
