Baba Baidyanath Temple, Deoghar: There is welcome news for devotees visiting Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar, Jharkhand, from across the country and abroad. To facilitate a quicker and easier *darshan* (viewing of the deity) of Baba Baidyanath—one of the 12 sacred *Jyotirlingas* known as the *Manokamana Linga* (fulfiller of wishes)—the rate for the 'Shighra Darshan' (express entry) coupon has been halved. The price has been reduced from ₹600 to just ₹300.

Previously, the coupon was priced at ₹600 due to the heavy influx of devotees during the holy months of *Sawan* and *Bhado*; however, with the crowd now having subsided, the rate has been lowered to ₹300. This new rule came into effect on Wednesday.

**No Compromise on Facilities Despite Price Reduction**

Kundan Baba, a *Tirth Purohit* (temple priest) at the Deoghar temple, along with the temple management, confirmed the reduction in coupon rates. They assured that the facilities provided to devotees would remain unaffected by the price drop.

Holders of the 'Shighra Darshan' coupon benefit from a separate, organized queue that offers direct and easy access to the sanctum sanctorum. Devotees can purchase the coupon directly from authorized counters located within the temple complex and the surrounding area by paying the prescribed fee of ₹300. The coupon system curbs black marketing and the influence of middlemen, ensuring that pilgrims arriving from distant places can obtain the token at the official rate.

**Major Benefit for Families**
Even after the conclusion of the *Sawan* and *Bhado* months, a large number of devotees continue to visit Deoghar from Bihar, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Nepal, and other parts of the country. Consequently, the reduction in coupon prices by up to 50 percent will directly benefit ordinary devotees. This offers significant relief, particularly to those visiting with their entire families for *darshan*. 

A family of four that previously spent ₹2,400 for *darshan* can now avail of the *Shighra Darshanam* (expedited viewing) facility for just ₹1,200. By using this service, devotees can perform *Jalabhishek* (ritual bathing of the deity with water) and offer prayers in a very short time, avoiding the need to wait for hours in long, standard queues. This arrangement brings relief to the elderly, women, and travelers from distant areas who wish to complete their *darshan* quickly due to time constraints.
