The Romania Embassy has invited applications for scholarships for Indian students in Bachelor, Master and PhD programs for the academic year 2025-26. These scholarships provide financial assistance in all fields, except medicine, dental medicine and pharmacy.

This is the application process

Interested candidates can apply through the Study in Romania platform (studyinromania.gov.ro) by clicking on the link "Apply for MFA Scholarships". Only applications made on this platform will be accepted. The last date of application is 12 March 2025. The Ministry of Education of the Government of India has no contribution in the selection process. The final decision on selection will be made by the donor country.

Candidates applying for the scholarship must meet various qualifications:

Submit a complete application file.

Submit valid study documents from recognized institutions.

Follow the enrollment deadlines.

Achieve a minimum average score of 7 (or "Good" according to the Romanian system) in your recent academic studies.

Scholarship coverage:

This scholarship is available for these academic levels:

Bachelor's degree: For high school or pre-university graduates. Programs last 3-6 years, depending on the specialization, and end with a bachelor's exam.

Master's degree: For graduate students. Programs last 1-2 years and end with a dissertation exam.

PhD: For graduates of higher education. Programs last 3-5 years and require a written agreement from a doctoral tutor and an admissions interview.

For Bachelor and Master programs, scholarship recipients must study in Romanian, including a preparatory year if candidates are not proficient in the language.

PhD candidates can choose between Romanian or a foreign language, as determined by the Doctoral School.

Exemption from the Romanian preparatory year will be granted to candidates who:

Have a Romanian study document or have studied in Romanian for at least four years.

Pass a Romanian language test.

Present a Romanian language proficiency certificate (minimum B1 level).
