Why has gold become more expensive today?

This bill includes provisions to impose heavy tariffs—up to 100%—on countries that purchase oil and gas from Russia; the list includes nations such as China and India. This has reignited concerns about a potential trade war with the US. Driven by these fears, investors have resumed heavy buying of gold as a safe-haven asset.
