Chris Wood, Global Head of Equity Strategy at Jefferies, believes that the price of gold could rise to reach $10,000 per ounce. Compared to current levels, this would represent a surge of approximately 130%. Speaking to CNBC-TV18 on the sidelines of the Jefferies India Forum 2026, Wood stated that the $10,000 per ounce mark is achievable. Efforts to control US bond yields could weaken the dollar, potentially benefiting gold.

Silver's Status

Like gold, silver—another precious metal—also saw a decline on Friday. On the morning of September 18, the price of silver slipped to ₹244,900 per kilogram. In the international market, the price of spot silver has fallen to $64.06 per ounce. Domestic prices for gold and silver are influenced by both global and local factors.
