Gold prices in the country have declined. On the morning of August 14, the price of 24-carat gold in the capital, Delhi, dropped to ₹1,53,740 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the price fell to ₹1,53,590 per 10 grams. Gold rates have slipped in other cities as well. Prices have come down following profit-booking after the recent rally in gold.

Gold prices have also declined in international markets. Spot gold has fallen to $4,354.58 per ounce. US retail inflation data for July came in line with expectations. According to the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) saw a marginal rise of 0.1 percent in July, following a decline in June. Meanwhile, retail inflation in the US rose by 3.4 percent over the 12 months ending in July, matching economists' forecasts.

There was no change in the US Producer Price Index (PPI) in July compared to June. A drop in goods prices offset the rise in service costs, suggesting that inflationary pressures may persist. On an annual basis—covering the 12 months up to July—the Producer Price Index rose by 4.7 percent.

Mumbai and Kolkata: In Mumbai and Kolkata, the price of 22-carat gold is ₹1,40,790 per 10 grams, while the price of 24-carat gold is ₹1,53,590 per 10 grams.

Gold price in Chennai: The price of 24-carat gold is ₹1,55,140 per 10 grams. The price for 22-carat gold is ₹1,42,210 per 10 grams.

Prices in Pune and Bengaluru: In both these cities, the price of 24-carat gold is ₹1,53,590 per 10 grams, and the price of 22-carat gold is ₹1,40,790 per 10 grams.
