The festival of Raksha Bandhan is set to be celebrated on Friday, August 28. A day prior, on Thursday, gold prices in the country witnessed a decline. On the morning of August 27, the price of 24-carat gold in the capital, Delhi, slipped to ₹1,63,890 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, the rate stands at ₹1,50,090 per 10 grams. It is reported that gold prices have dropped due to profit-booking following a period of significant gains over several weeks. A strengthening dollar is also cited as a contributing factor. In the international market, spot gold is trading at $4,619.21 per ounce.
