In the international market, spot gold is trading at $4,139.89 per ounce. HSBC suggests that gold prices could face further pressure in the near term. The bank has lowered its average gold price forecast for 2026 to $4,490 per ounce and reduced the forecast for 2027 to $4,825 per ounce. HSBC also anticipates that central banks will resume gold purchases if prices fall—specifically, if they drop to around or below the $4,000 mark.
