The decline in gold prices across the country shows no signs of stopping. Prices for both 24-carat and 22-carat gold are continuously slipping in most cities. On the morning of July 9, the price of 24-carat gold in the capital, Delhi, dropped to ₹1,43,270 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the rate stands at ₹1,43,120 per 10 grams. In the international market, spot gold is trading at $4,056.24 per ounce. Investor sentiment has weakened due to a surge in crude oil prices amidst rising tensions in West Asia.

Gold prices are also falling in global markets, impacting the domestic market. Rising crude oil prices have reignited concerns about inflation, leading to an increase in US bond yields and the value of the dollar.

US President Donald Trump has announced the termination of the interim peace agreement with Iran. Late Wednesday night, the US launched fresh attacks targeting Iran's military infrastructure and a railway bridge. Prior to this, the US had accused Iran of attacking commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital maritime route.
