Gold prices in the country have seen an uptick on October 28. In the morning, the rates for both 24-carat and 22-carat gold rose across several cities. In the national capital, Delhi, the price of 24-carat gold has reached ₹143,450 per 10 grams. A day earlier, the price of gold in Delhi’s bullion market had fallen by ₹500. A stronger dollar and a softening of prices in global markets were the primary reasons for the weakness in domestic gold prices. Gold prices in the domestic market are expected to remain volatile in the near term.

In the international market, spot gold is trading at $4,055.14 per ounce. Investors are awaiting the outcome of the US Federal Reserve’s monetary policy meeting scheduled for October 28. During its September meeting, the US central bank had raised benchmark interest rates by 0.25 percent.
