Gold prices have risen across the country, with increases observed in most cities. On the morning of August 1, the price of 24-carat gold in the capital, Delhi, climbed to ₹1,44,760 per 10 grams. This rise is attributed to increased buying by retailers and jewelers. A day earlier, the price of 99.9% pure gold in Delhi's bullion market had risen by ₹300 to reach ₹1,48,300 per 10 grams. According to Reuters, however, spot gold prices have declined in the international market, falling to $4,049.83 per ounce. US gold futures for August delivery have also dropped to $4,107 per ounce.
