The festival of Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated on September 4. On this occasion, the downward trend in gold prices across the country has halted. On the morning of Janmashtami, rates for both 24-carat and 22-carat gold rose in most cities. In the capital, Delhi, the price of 24-carat gold has increased to ₹1,55,510 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the price has reached ₹1,55,360 per 10 grams. In the international market, spot gold stands at $4,443.93 per ounce. Demand for gold as a safe-haven investment remains strong due to new geopolitical tensions.

Goldman Sachs has projected that gold prices will reach $4,900 per ounce by the end of this year. It notes that central banks of various countries are purchasing approximately 50 tonnes of gold per month in 2026.

Gold price in Delhi: The price of 24-carat gold in Delhi is ₹1,55,510 per 10 grams. The rate for 22-carat gold is ₹1,42,560 per 10 grams.

Mumbai and Kolkata: In Mumbai and Kolkata, the price of 22-carat gold is ₹1,42,410 per 10 grams, while the price of 24-carat gold is ₹1,55,360 per 10 grams.

In the international market, the price of spot silver stands at $65.77 per ounce. A day earlier, gold had risen by ₹3,400 and silver by ₹5,000 in Delhi's bullion market. Domestic prices of gold and silver are influenced by both domestic and global factors.
