Gold Price Today: Gold dips on the 6th day of Navratri; silver also fares poorly..
Gold prices in the country continued to decline on October 16. On the morning of the sixth day of Navratri, the price of 24-carat gold in the national capital, Delhi, stood at ₹147,580 per 10 grams. A day earlier, the price of 99.9% pure gold in Delhi’s bullion market had dropped by ₹900. This decline was driven by a stronger rupee and weak spot demand. A stronger rupee makes the import of dollar-denominated metals like gold and silver cheaper, which exerts downward pressure on their prices in the domestic market.
On Thursday, the rupee strengthened for the fifth consecutive trading session, closing at 94.99 against the US dollar—a gain of 18 paise. Over the past weekend, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had implemented several measures aimed at strengthening the domestic currency.
In the international market, spot gold is trading at $4,152.99 per ounce. Within the country, gold and silver prices are influenced by both domestic and global factors.
