The upward trend in gold prices continues across the country. On the morning of October 3, there was a surge in the rates for both 24-carat and 22-carat gold. In the capital, Delhi, the price of 24-carat gold stands at ₹1,50,460 per 10 grams. Prices have risen in other cities as well. In the international market, spot gold is trading at $4,140.06 per ounce. So far this week, its global price has fallen by approximately 3.4 percent. Domestic gold and silver prices are influenced by both local and global factors.

Gold price in Delhi: The price of 24-carat gold in Delhi is ₹1,50,460 per 10 grams. The rate for 22-carat gold is ₹1,37,910 per 10 grams.

Mumbai and Kolkata: In Mumbai and Kolkata, the price of 22-carat gold is ₹1,37,760 per 10 grams, while the price of 24-carat gold is ₹1,50,290 per 10 grams.

Gold price in Chennai: The price of 24-carat gold is ₹1,50,290 per 10 grams. The rate for 22-carat gold is ₹1,37,760 per 10 grams.

The bank states that gold prices could face further pressure in the near term. HSBC expects that central banks will resume gold purchases once prices fall—specifically, if they drop to around or below the $4,000 mark.

Silver Price

The price of silver, another precious metal, has declined. On the morning of October 3, the price of silver in the country stands at ₹234,900 per kilogram. In the international market, the price of spot silver is $60.36 per ounce. Earlier this year, in January, the domestic price of silver had reached a record high of ₹4 lakh per kilogram.
