A day earlier, the price of 99.9% pure gold in Delhi's bullion market had surged by ₹3,000 to reach ₹1,47,500 per 10 grams. Demand for gold has spiked due to strengthening prices in international markets and a weakening dollar.
In the international market, spot gold is trading at $4,144.83 per ounce. US Federal Reserve official Kevin Warsh has indicated a less hawkish stance than market expectations, easing concerns about an imminent interest rate hike. Additionally, US jobs data coming in weaker than expected has also dampened expectations of rising interest rates. According to Reuters, the US Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics reported an increase of 57,000 jobs in non-farm payrolls in June.
