What the experts say
Jatin Trivedi, an analyst at HDFC Securities, notes that the strengthening of the rupee is impacting gold prices in the domestic market. Meanwhile, crude oil prices remain at high levels, posing a continued risk of rising inflation. According to Trivedi, the overall trend currently remains weak. However, Kaynat Chainwala of Kotak Neo suggests that the decline is being contained by a weaker US dollar and a softening in bond yields. Chainwala adds that the bullion market will be closely monitoring several key upcoming data releases from the US economy, the US Federal Reserve meeting scheduled for next week, as well as developments in the bond market and fluctuations in crude oil prices.
