Experts' views on gold and silver prices
Jatin Trivedi, Vice President and Research Analyst (Commodities and Currencies) at LKP Securities, stated, "Gold weakened on Wednesday as the strengthening of the rupee exerted pressure on domestic prices." He added that the overall market sentiment remains weak due to the strengthening rupee and concerns that high crude oil prices could fuel inflationary pressures. On Wednesday, the rupee strengthened significantly by 48 paise against the US dollar, closing at 94.43 (provisional). The rupee received support from the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) intervention, aimed at curbing the demand for the dollar.
Ashish Rajodia, Head of Commodities at PL Capital, noted that silver prices in the domestic market also saw a decline. Crude oil prices fell following initial hopes for a peace agreement involving Iran, which provided temporary support to precious metals. In global markets, spot gold remained largely stable at $4,127.68 per ounce, while silver fell by 0.48% to $57.72 per ounce. Kaynat Chainwala, Assistant Vice President (Commodity Research) at the brokerage platform Kotak Neo, remarked, "Spot gold is trading steady around $4,126 per ounce, whereas silver has declined to $57.10 per ounce after reaching $58.60 per ounce in the previous session."
