Google has issued a warning to 2.5 billion (about 250 crore) users. Recently, this information was revealed, but now a new mode has come in this matter. Google has denied the claims of sending a 'warning' to all Gmail users. The company said in a blog post that 'Gmail's security is strong and effective' and called the reports of a security breach 'completely false'.

What does the company say about Gmail's safety?

The company wrote in the blog post that we want to assure the users that Gmail's security is strong and effective. Recently, many false claims have come to the fore in which it has been wrongly said that we have issued a warning to all Gmail users, but this is completely false. The company said that phishers always keep looking for ways to intrude into the inbox, but our security prevents more than 99.9 percent of phishing and malware attempts from reaching the users.

However, the company did not clearly mention the reports that it was referring to. This matter was related to reports claiming that after the recent Salesforce breach, all 2.5 billion (about 250 crore) users of Gmail were warned about a phishing attack.

Google itself had informed about the phishing attack in a blog post in June, and later, in an update on August 8, it also said that all the users affected by this incident have been informed. But it seems that the reports have misinterpreted it as an incident of Google sending a warning to all Gmail users. Google said in the blog post that our team invests heavily and constantly works on innovation and also provides information related to the risks and protections implemented by us to the users.
