Giving Wings to Daughters’ Dreams! The Government Offers an Annual Scholarship of ₹50,000—Here’s How to Avail It
Under the government’s AICTE Pragati Scholarship Scheme, female students pursuing technical education are being provided with financial assistance of up to ₹50,000 annually.
The continuously rising tuition fees and the high cost of technical courses in the country have become a major source of concern for many families today. In particular, the educational expenses for daughters pursuing engineering, diploma programs, and other technical courses often place a heavy financial burden on their parents. However, a special government scheme has now brought relief to thousands of female students. This scheme is named the ‘AICTE Pragati Scholarship Scheme,’ under which daughters are provided with financial assistance of up to ₹50,000 every year.
This scheme is regarded as nothing short of a boon for girls who excel academically but find their dreams hindered by a lack of financial resources. The government aims to ensure that the nation’s daughters also advance in the field of technical education and become self-reliant. It is with this vision that this scholarship scheme was launched.
An Annual Grant of ₹50,000
Under this scheme, administered by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), female students receive financial assistance of ₹50,000 annually. This amount can be utilized to pay college fees, purchase books, acquire a laptop, and cover other essential expenses.
In the current times, the costs associated with technical education—including the need for laptops and digital learning resources—have risen significantly. Consequently, this scholarship is proving to be a substantial source of support for students and their families.
For How Many Years is the Benefit Available?
This government scheme is not limited to just one year of assistance. If a student is pursuing a degree course, she can avail the benefits of this scheme for up to four years. Conversely, students pursuing a diploma are provided with assistance for up to three years. Students who gain direct admission into the second year of a program through ‘lateral entry’ are also eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme.
Who Can Apply?
Certain essential eligibility criteria have been established to avail the benefits of this scheme. Foremost among these is the requirement that the applicant must be a female student. Furthermore, the college in which admission has been secured must be recognized by the AICTE. The annual family income must not exceed ₹8 lakh. Additionally, a maximum of two daughters per family are eligible to avail the benefits of this scholarship. The student must have enrolled in the first year of a degree or diploma course. Meanwhile, students admitted through lateral entry may apply starting from the second year.
Application Process is Entirely Online
The government has significantly simplified the application process to ensure that students do not have to make repeated visits to government offices. The entire application process is conducted online. To apply, students are required to visit the National Scholarship Portal and register themselves. Subsequently, they must select the “AICTE Pragati Scholarship Scheme” and fill out the application form. Along with the form, students are required to upload their Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, income certificate, fee receipts, and other necessary documents. Once the application is submitted, the documents undergo verification by the college authorities.
